Dementia Specialist - Driving and Dementia for Crisis Responders

Course Content

• Recognition of signs of dementia that drivers living with dementia may exhibit
• Use of effective communication techniques with drivers living with dementia
• Determination of appropriate next steps to ensure the safety of the driver and the public

Suggested Audience:
Crisis responders including law enforcement personnel, judiciary/court officials, fire/EMS personnel, dispatchers, County Adult Protective Services (APS) staff, healthcare and emergency room (ER) staff, and spiritual leaders who may have contact with people living with dementia that are driving.

Approximate Course Completion Time: 1-hour (There is no requirement to finish the course in one sitting. You can start now and finish later, up to 6 months).

Cost Per Person: $25  

Course Completion and Certificate of Completion:

Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate of completion stating the number of course hours.

• Continuing Education Units are available upon request after successful completion of this training and receipt of a certificate of completion.
• This course may fulfill continuing education requirements for many credentialed professionals; individuals should contact their licensing board or association for information on course specific requirements for their area of expertise.
