Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Continuing Education Units

A Certificate of Participation for contact hours as well as CEUs through the University of Wisconsin-Extension are provided for the Generalist, Specialist, and Challenging Behavior Specialist Train-the-Trainer courses. There is a separate fee for this service. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure prior to registration that these courses meet their continuing education or CEU requirements.

The Dementia Training curriculum often fulfills continuing education requirements for the following:

  • Individuals covered under long-term care and assisted living continuing education requirements. For example, employees of nursing homes, CBRFs, Adult Family Homes, Residential Care Apartments, Home Health/Personal Care agencies, hospitals, and others may check with their regulatory authority to confirm course approval as needed.
  • Individuals seeking continuing education units through the University of Wisconsin-Extension. UW-Extension awards one CEU for every ten contact hours in a continuing education experience. CEU application forms will be available to participants. UW-Extension charges a fee to process the forms.
