Recommended Computer Settings Document
The Computer Settings Document explains the computer settings that should be in place when using the DHS Learning Center. Please check with your Supervisor or IT Department prior to making any changes to your computer settings.

Screen Resolution

The DHS Learning Center website and DHS Income Maintenance training courses are best viewed using a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. This is also the standard screen size needed to properly view CARES Worker Web.

To change your screen resolution:

  1. Open Display in the Control Panel.
  2. Click on Adjust Resolution in the left navigation menu.
  3. Under the Resolution drop down, drag the slider to 1024 x 768 and click Apply.
  4. When prompted to apply the settings, click OK. Your screen will turn black for a moment while the settings are applied.
  5. Once your screen resolution changes, you have 15 seconds to confirm the change. Click Yes to confirm the change; click No or do nothing to revert back to your previous settings.

If you need further assistance, please contact your IT Department.

Distance Learning Tools

DHS IM Training uses a wide variety of tools to produce and distribute training materials. Some of these tools require an additional piece of software to enable them to function properly.

To maximize your participation in distance learning initiatives, it is recommended that your computer be equipped with all of the following players, plug-ins, and viewers. These are free downloads that have been reviewed by Partner Training Services prior to use in our courses. As new courses are produced, we will provide information on which additional software pieces are needed for the courses to function properly.

Be sure to check with your supervisor or IT department prior to downloading or installing anything on your work computer.
